Keren is a performance studies scholar who researches contemporary art and performance practices, the cultural politics of festivals, the aesthetics and politics of activism and, more recently, the performative strategies of populist movements and authoritarian regimes. She regularly teaches CINE 240: Media Industries and includes modules on internet culture. Keren also teaches special topics courses through BMS, such as “Mediated Urbanisms,” which examines the intersections between cities, media, and performance, and often involves field trips to curated arts festivals in Vancouver.
