International Transgender Day of Visibility (TDOV) occurs every year on March 31st. This day is dedicated to celebrating transgender people, their contributions to society and raising awareness of discrimination faced by transgender people worldwide.
UBC Sexual Violence Prevention and Response Office will be screening the documentary Disclosure from 3:00-5:00pm PST, followed by a conversation from 5:00-6:00pm PST with the Director of this ground-breaking film, Sam Feder. Disclosure is available on Netflix, and participants are welcome to either watch it during the event or watch it on their own and join us at 4:45 for the conversation. The discussion will be on visibility of trans people and stories, as a means of ending gender-based violence, celebrating the lives and contributions of trans people, and how to be an ally in the fight to ensure we all have the safety and freedom to be who we are.
If you are interested in attending the event, please RSVP here.
