Thank you to everyone who attended the first Bachelor of Media Studies (BMS) Social + Career Mingle event held on September 19, it was a full house!
We were so happy to see BMS students from all years come out to this event! Students had the opportunity to connect with each other, professors, and hear from a panel discussion led by the BMS Faculty Chair Christine D’Onofrio with UBC Alumni in the media, creative, and tech fields.
Afterwards, a lively networking session for BMS students to discuss career aspirations and garner advice with the UBC Alumni was also held.
Students also learned how to get involved with the UBC Media Studies Student Association and apply their skills in the community and beyond with the UBC Arts Co-op Program.
Special thanks to the alumni UBC speakers Cherrie Lam from PeaceGeeks, Tinnie Chow from Magnify Digital, Rick from Greater Vancouver Professional Theatre Alliance, Dylan from Electronic Arts, Kelsey from Northill Creative Communications Inc., and Zain Meghji from Daily Hive Vancouver.
