Happy Last Day of Classes, BMS students! We wish you all the best of luck on your final exams and projects.
Here are some words of advice from the BMS Peer and Academic Mentors to help you better prepare for this upcoming finals season.
Hui: This exam season, get yourself enough sleep—ideally, as close to eight hours as possible—every night. Scheduling breaks and getting enough rest is as crucial as scheduling time to actively study! Good luck with your finals and remember that your worth is inherent, not grade-dependent.
Gabrielle: Plan to space out study sessions ahead of exam season. studying one section every day over two weeks can be less daunting/stressful than trying to cram everything in one/two nights. Also, even if it can be a little scary, remember you can ask your prof. /TA for support/questions—many are very helpful and understanding and that’s also technically what they’re here for!
Ky: Between tasks, sustain your motivation by taking some time to unwind and do something that makes you feel good! All the best to everyone and have a relaxing winter break.
Jueun: If you feel stuck on getting your final projects done, I suggest you work on it with a friend. Set a study session and be accountable for each other. Support each other with words of affirmation. We are all in this together!
Claire: Exams do not define you! Treat this as a trial run and just learn what exams in university are like for the future.
Teann: Hello, Beans! You’re doing great so far and I’m so so proud of you. Be sure to look into academic accommodations as soon as possible if you might think that applies to you. It never hurts to ask and look into it.
