Rachel Lau Documents Youth Resistance in Chinatown with CiTR



As part of CiTR’s radio documentary series “Keep it Local”, Rachel Lau has produced and released “The Young and The Resistant”,  a radio documentary on a personal and very relevant topic in the Vancouver community; the youth resurgence movement in downtown Chinatown. Rachel’s cultural background as a Canadian Born Chinese (CBC), lead them to Chinatown’s youth resurgence for the amazing impact and relationship that youth are creating in the area, including a number of youth activists currently operating on Chinatown’s biggest issues. Rachel touches on the historical background of Chinese advocacy in Vancouver, as well as the power of community radio.
